Expedited Home Study - Filed Within 72 Hours |

The Home Study is a document required by the state and international government entities for every adoption, domestic and international. The Home Study includes documentation such as birth and marriage certificates, tax and income records, police records checks and child protective services record checks. You will fill out a questionnaire about your background, parenting practices and reasons for adopting. An interview will be conducted in your home with you and all members of your household to be sure your home has no safety hazards for a child. We will write a report based on all the information gathered. |

Home studies are required for a family to adopt a child from the U.S. or internationally. The home study is approving you as an adoptive family and so you may work with the child referral service that best meets your needs in any state. |

After a child is placed with you, either internationally or domestically, it is required that you have a completed post placement report conducted by a licensed adoption agency.A post-placement report involves a visit your home to check on the adjustment of the child and family and to answer any questions or concerns you might have. |

Home Study Recertification Report |

| |
Home studies are only valid for a particular length of time depending on the state it is completed in. This does not mean that you have to go through the home study process again, it simply means that the home study must be updated after this time has passed. When is an update needed? An update is necessary if you have changed jobs, moved to a new home in the same state, a new member is living in the home, or the home study has expired (or is set to expire before placement occurs). If you have moved to another state you will be required to have a new home study completed. Home studies are valid only in the state they were completed in. |
