Happy Thanksgiving!  The entire month of November is always such a wonderful time to pause and be thankful. Adoption is very personal to me. Every Thanksgiving, I am reminded that as a young, frightened teenager, my birthmother chose to give me the gift of life and a loving, stable upbringing with wonderful parents through the miracle of adoption.

And because my birthmother, Donna K. Evans, made the courageous choice, I have also been able to become a mother to wonderful children and, someday, enjoy their grandchildren.  When I pause to count my blessings, it always amazes me how one decision positively impacts the lives of so many others. Without her choice, I would not be here, serving as the CEO of Building Arizona Families, playing a role in the miracle of adoption for so many others.

I am thankful for all of the babies that have been adopted through our domestic program – for each courageous birthmother, the loving adoptive families, and all of our hardworking, dedicated staff that serve each birthmother and adoptive family.

On behalf of the entire staff of Building Arizona Families, thank you that you care deeply about adoption, knowing that one courageous choice changes countless lives.
