For many hopeful parents, domestic infant adoption provides a chance to grow their family while giving a child a loving and stable home.

If you are starting to explore adoption in Arizona, the process can feel complex at first. Learning how the adoption process works and what to expect can make your journey feel manageable and exciting.

Reflecting on Your Reasons

Adoption is a lifelong commitment, and it’s important to take your time to reflect on your reasons and expectations.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Why do I/we want to adopt a baby?
  • Am/Are I/we emotionally ready for the ups and downs?
  • Am/Are I/we open to some level of ongoing connection with the birth parents so our child can stay connected to their story?
  • Am/Are I/we prepared to provide a stable, loving home where a child can grow and thrive?
  • Am/Are I/we financially ready to take on the responsibilities of raising a child?

Support at Every Step

Parenting through adoption comes with unique joys and challenges. That’s why ongoing adoption support can make all the difference. From your very first call, we’re here with:

  • Post-adoption guidance
  • Valuable resources
  • Connection to support groups

Adoption Home Study

An Adoption Home Study is designed to confirm that a family is ready and able to provide a safe, supportive environment for a child. It’s about preparing you for adoption and ensuring the best possible start for the child.

The home study usually includes background checks, interviews with family members, a visit to your home, required paperwork, and documentation.

Your Adoption Specialist will guide you through the process and help you stay organized. Once the Adoption Home Study is approved, and you have signed the Adoption Domestic Contract,  you are eligible to be matched with an expectant mother.

Creating Your Adoption Profile

Your adoption profile is how expectant parents get to meet you. It’s one of the most meaningful parts of the process. Think of it as an introduction to your life, values, and the home you hope to share with a child.

A strong adoption profile includes:

  • Photos of your family and home
  • Personal stories about your life together
  • Your values and traditions
  • Your hopes and dreams for the child

This profile helps a birth mother or birth parents imagine what life might look like for her/their child with your family.
