Adoptable children in the United States are hoping and praying for forever families. At any one time in the U.S., there are an average of 150,000 children of varying ages whose parental rights are severed and are awaiting adoption.
In the U.S., when children experience abuse or neglect, the child welfare agency in the state the child resides intervenes. The child is removed from the home for safety reasons, and a formal process begins in which the child’s parents receive the counseling and associated support systems they need to change the behaviors that led to the removal of their children. After a substantial period of time, if the parents do not change the behaviors that placed the child in danger, the state legally terminates parental rights. There are adoptable children in every state of the U.S.

Through the Forever Families program, Building Arizona Families assists Arizona families in finding adoptable children from around the country. Parents must reside in Arizona in order for Building Arizona Families to assist with the adoption process, but the foster child may reside anywhere in the U.S.
You Are Invited
Arizona families interested in adopting a foster child are not required to become licensed foster families before adoption. The adoptive families complete an adoption home study through Building Arizona Families. The professional home study satisfies the legal requirements of the State of Arizona. Required documents include birth certificates, marriage licenses, tax returns, reference letters, fingerprint clearance, and other items.
