Many families who are considering adoption are experiencing uncertainty as a result of the COVID-19 virus. Domestic, foster, and international adoption has been affected by the pandemic. Home studies for all kinds of adoption have been delayed. For international adoption, travel to Haiti has been halted. We are navigating these challenges and continue to move families forward to finalize adoptions of their precious children.
The need for loving adoptive families remains high. Children who live in foster care settings and children living in impoverished settings in Haiti are at higher risk as a result of the pandemic. It is our mission to find a home for as many children as we can through domestic adoption (newborn adoption), adoption of foster children, and Haiti adoption.
Building Arizona Families is Fighting to Protect as Many Babies and Children as Possible
Right now, families may be experiencing financial constraints and uncertain decision-making that can impact the newborn domestic adoption program. Building Arizona Families is able to help any family in the United States that meets the adoption criteria to adopt a newborn baby. Although adoptive families may be uncertain about moving forward, the number of women experiencing crisis pregnancies are not slowing down. Unfortunately, there is an increase in homelessness, substance abuse, and domestic abuse due to COVID-19 impacts. Adoptive families around the U.S. are urgently needed to give precious newborns the loving, stable future they need. Learn more about the Domestic/Newborn Adoption program HERE.
Adoption of foster children has slowed down and fewer families are opening up their homes to provide a forever family for foster children of all ages. With fewer foster families available, many foster children are being placed in emergency shelters or group homes. A child should never have to experience that level of loneliness and uncertainty. Foster children can be adopted directly from the foster care system without the need to become a foster home first. The process is quicker and less expensive than other types of adoption. There are children of all ages waiting for a family to welcome them into their home. To learn more about how to adopt foster children, go HERE.
International adoption from Haiti is being impacted by travel and adoption process delays. Building Arizona Families still continues to work tirelessly to find loving, permanent homes for vulnerable Haiti children and guiding adoptive parents through their journey. Learn more about Haiti adoptions HERE.

Every Adoption at Our Arizona Adoption Agency Changes Lives
Every adoption changes a child’s life forever. It also changes the lives of the adoptive family, filling homes and hearts with joy. For domestic adoption of newborns, it also changes the life of the birth mother, who receives a fresh start at life through the Donna K. Evans Foundation to receive counseling, life skill training, job placement, etc. There is also a podcast co-hosted by Kelly Rourke-Scarry, co-founder of Building Arizona Families. called “Birth Mother Matters”.
