Despite the global pandemic, Building Arizona Families is still providing services to begin, or continue the international Haiti adoption journey. The IBESR (also the Central Authority for adoptions in Haiti) has chosen BAF to place children from Haiti with adoptive families in the United States since 2005. 

When the Haitian government recognized the serious risks children face in institutions, they acknowledged the importance of transitioning away from institutions to more community-based support to improve children’s outcomes. In an attempt to protect Haitian orphans from a life full of uncertainty and instability, the Haitian government strives to provide better for these children. These efforts include actively planning and developing appropriate alternative placements, like international Haiti adoption. 

There is a great need for families to adopt Haitian children and offer them a stable, loving family. We are currently seeking families who would like to adopt children over the age of six and are open to adopting siblings. An unknown but not forgotten number of children in Haiti need a healthier and safer life.
