Are you interested in adopting a newborn baby? If so, you probably have many questions about the adoption steps necessary to bring your adopted baby home. Understanding the steps in the adoption process is crucial in helping the adoption process go smoothly.
There is a great deal of information about the adoption steps for newborns on our website, and you can download our complimentary adoption information kit here. The adoption of newborn babies is called domestic adoption, and you will see that terminology on the page. No matter where you live in the U.S., Building Arizona Families can facilitate your newborn adoption of an Arizona infant.
Starting the Adoption Process with Building Arizona Families
One of the first adoption steps is the completion of a home study. The home study must be completed before registering to start the adoption process. Building Arizona Families does provide home studies for families residing in Arizona. For adoptive families residing outside of Arizona, please be sure that a licensed adoption agency or a social worker conducts your home study. Once this is completed, you can move forward to be placed on the domestic infant adoption waitlist.
Other adoption steps include meeting with your case manager to determine the criteria for the newborn baby you wish to adopt. This can include ethnicity and health of the baby, but it is important to note that the more flexible you are, the more likely you will be matched more quickly with a birth mother.
